Along with the cars, a group of classic bikes showed up.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Today at Alice's Restaurant was a blue Vincent and a Vindian. You never know what you will see at Alice's Restaurant on a sunny day.
There were about 10 Nortons (the Norton club cleans the highway north and south of the 35/84 junction once a month) up there too, but you see those things all the time so they are not all that interesting anymore.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
I saw a nice 1969 Vespa 200 Rally today. It was owned by a woman who doesn't have a motorcycle license. Her husband was riding it, with her as a passenger.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Here is a photo of an Acme (catchy brand name) 2 hp motorcycle. I don't know in what year it was made, but it looks to me like something made before 1910.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
I entered my Zero in the local high school car show yesterday. Unfortunately, it couldn't compete with the display next to me. Photos with captions attached.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

Here is one of the cleanest Honda 400 Fours that I have ever seen. I had a 1975 red CB400F and I don't think it ever looked that nice when it was on the showroom floor.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
I don't know how classic this mid-1980's Yamaha Fazer 700 is, but you sure don't see these things running around every day. This non-running example was just picked up by my friend to add to his 21 motorcycle collection. He has his work cut out for him to get it back on the road. Among other things, it has a rusted-out fuel tank and a leaky hydraulic clutch system.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Here is something a little different that I saw yesterday. It is a Morgan look-a-like reverse-trike powered by a 1978 water-cooled 500cc Honda V-twin, using its electrical system, gauges, shaft rear drive and Comstar rear wheel. But the interesting thing about the vehicle was that its thin steel tube framed body was completely covered by button-down fabric, sort of like a soft-top convertible car. Here is a photo.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
There was a nice red Vincent sidecar rig at Alice's Restaurant today and also a 2010 Royal Enfield that looked like it came right out of the 1950's.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
I rode one of the new Royal Enfield's and it is kind of a hoot to ride. The only thing that I couldn't get used to was the vibration coming from the foot pegs.
BMW F800S…….
There is no words to adequately describe the batshit crazies....
Phil, I noticed the same vibrations in the pegs on the 2 versions I test rode. Kind of a interest killer. I wouldn't want to ride with those vibes for any distance. The 5-7 miles I covered was enough to put the thought of purchase out of my wallet!
Here are the latest photos of this and that from the Alice's Restaurant parking lot.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
The classic bike for today at Alice's Restaurant is the Velocette 350. Photos attached.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Here is a nicely restored 1973 Honda CB750. It is the first one that I have ever seen with double disc brakes. And the obligatory F650GS, although this one seems to be missing a cylinder.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
So today I was up at Alice's Restaurant for breakfast again and noticed a motorcycle gang past by and head down Highway 84 toward La Honda. I jumped on my F650GS to see what they were up to. I caught up with them at San Gregorio and the attached photos are the result.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
There were even some British bikes. I could tell they were British because they didn't have air filters.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Today we have a 1984 Yamaha 125 "Torque Induction" twin and a went-bankrupt-very-quickly (1990's ?) Excelsior-Henderson "Super X".
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Richard, The CB 750 on the pic's is not a '73 but a first series K 0 from '69, '70 recognizable at the holes in the side covers, bodycolour air-box little step-up passenger seat, ect...Second disc was not difficult , you bought a second disc an caliper-kit, the front fork was already prepared for mounting. As the CB 750 was the first series bike with a disc brake, one was tought as beeing sufficient, but a double option was already prepared.
Zjeppe, I got the year of the CB750 from looking at the frame build date sticker. It said 1973.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
It's funny when these guys treat these old bikes like new ones and try to ride at todays' speeds. It's like an 85 year old guy with lung cancer running up to Mount Whitney.
Something always fails!
Frames didn't change the first 7 yearsqo perhaps he putted on older bodywork
It certainly could have been a "bitza". You just never know when some tinker is going to make a CB750 out of a pile of random parts.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
As usual, you just never know what is going to ride up to Alice's Restaurant on a Sunday morning.
If I knew what size engine and year these Husqvarnas were I would tell you.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Not "classic" as such, but just a couple of interesting bikes I saw at the MotoClassica Show in Melbourne last month ( along with a huge display of fabulous cars, can post shots of those if anybody interested) The Irving Vincent is a completely locally manufactured take on what a Vincent would look like if built today. "Irving" is a tribute to Phil Irving the original genius engine designer ( and other stuff such as the Repco Brabham V8 and various WWII aircraft engines. I knew him in his semi-retirement in the late 60's - fascinating bloke)
The cafe racer Beemer was in the carpark. Nice.
Speaking of classic motorcycle photos, here is a photo of my daughter and I on my 1971 Triumph T-120R Bonneville. A beautiful looking motorcycle, but a real piece of mechanical crap. Great daughter, though. Still riding motorcycles.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
My older brother had a Bonnie from one of Triumph's final years. Was burgundy and white - really great looking. Also had a 2-1 aftermarket exhaust for a great sound too. However, Lucas gremlins were there too.
2009 F800ST (Night Blue Metallic) l 1999 SV650 (Naked & Red) l l 2012 G650 GS Sertao l 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT-S (Mrs. Meteor's...)
Here is one of the cleanest Honda 400 Fours that I have ever seen. I had a 1975 red CB400F and I don't think it ever looked that nice when it was on the showroom floor.
Just sold my 1977 F2 model also in red.
Maps are OK but.
They don't record just whereabouts you were lost!
I just love those 250's. Great for put-putting around, easy to work on and pretty reliable as long as you take care of them right and stay off the freeway. That one looks mint.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Here we have somewhat rare 1930's Velcoette thumper. And just for fun I tossed in a photo of a early 1980's Honda 650cc Interstate. You don't see these very often, either.

I attended another local auto show yesterday and attached are some photos of three old 1940's era "motorbikes".
Also attached are three photos of a very nice R69S that I saw today in the parking lot across from Alice's Restaurant.

While I was at the Chief Joseph Rally in Oregon last weekend I saw this new Cushman II scooter. It looks like someone may have reincarnated Cushman and is building modern scooters with more modern engines, disc brakes and even turn signals. Does anyone know more about this scooter? Photos attached of the scooter, along with a couple of nearby vintage BMW motorcycles that were hanging around.

Here is a link to a website displaying a number of old British motorcycle posters and ads from the good ole' days (that would be during the 1950's and 1960's): http://oldcarandtruckads.com/Motorcycle/

Here is this weekend's classic motorcycle photo, although the word "classic" might have a different meaning in describing this picture.

It was Vincent and Indian day at Alice's Restaurant this Sunday, along with a BSA 441 Shooting Star that (amazingly) apparently still runs.
Photos attached.

Today I visited a car show and saw this bike. I am not quite sure what to make of it. It is either an over-restored early-1900's track bike, or a custom built and fabricated model of a board track racer, or something in-between.
Richard - Current bikes: 2016 BMW R1200RS, 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2020 KTM 390 Duke, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 (FZS1000N) and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.
Check out this weird German front-wheel rotary engine motorcycle from the 1930's. Someone really went to a lot of trouble to manufacture something different.
