K75s handlebar risers

Does anyone have any experience or advice on handlebar risers on a k75? What brands are best? Which cables and lines need to be altered? Is there a problem with ignition wires? Any feed back is appreciated.

Ah, the good ol' days of swapping handle bars from one model to another on a BMW.
Used to be a popular past time.
HAve you checked the BMWMOA information? Those guys used to write about that stuff in days of yore before computers.
Maybe Paul Glaves has written about it.

I can not imagine anyone being interested in this thread. I ordered handlebar risers, 1 inch up and 1 inch back from twisted throttle. I want to set the K75s up for longer trips with off road capability. The k75 is taller in the saddle than the F800 which gives more leg comfort. The Corbin seat is more comfortable than the F800. I regularly will be riding up a 4 mile dirt road with an 1800 foot elevation gain. Also there are great deserts to explore. The drive shaft is more suitable then the belt drive. I hate to say it on the F 800 forum, but I feel the K 75 is more reliable.

Just finished installing the SW Motech handlebar risers purchased at Twisted Throttle. The ergonomics are much improved, but not as nice as the Helibars on the F 800. Did not need to change any lines or cables, but had to cut 3 cable ties. Needed some SB Blaster to loosen the bolts holding the bars. Will take a shake down cruise soon.

Just changed the fork oil on the K 75s. It is amazing how much the handling is improved by new fork oil. The K 75 has drain plugs at the bottom of the fork so this was a simple procedure. Next on the list will be transmission oil and gear oil for the drive shaft. I had forgotten how smooth the engine is on this bike. Look forward to a longer trip. The F 800st is way more fun to drive, but I intend to use the K 75 for dirt roads and really hot weather.

I just returned from a 2 day ride on my K75s, with 8 miles of off rode riding. The K75s was really smooth, more comfortable than my daily rider a 2007 F800ST. The F800 is way more fun to ride. For going really long relatively straight high speed miles, big water cooled BMW's are hard to beat. My MPG was in the plus 50 range compared to 60 plus on the F800.

After previous K100RS ownership, I bought another today. many levels above the F series in build quality. Oops Koolaid. Truck build quality. Tough.

Did you get the 2 valve or 4 valve model? How many miles (klms) are on the bike? Those older K bikes are really reliable.

The K was loaded onto a truck this morning

I hope to see it at my door on Sunday, or soon after.....

My other K has K75 bars on it, not sure which ones. A little wider and a little higher, still with the RS dash pad. It looks like the cables and brake lines are original.
