The spambot jerk from San Francisco has returned to the Chain Gang. I think he needs a "man bun" to complete his wardrobe. Nuke him.

Best place for "Spam" is fried in a skillet. Best place to store it is in a motor home. In case of emergency only. Otherwise its useless. So pop that top and discard.
Kaboom them out of the stratosphere like the New Years fireworks.
Here there's no real New Years fireworks. Just full on Automatic gunfire from Mexico's Drug Cartels for the new years celebration. Fired at the US with bullets raining down. mainly towards the Border Patrol parking lots and towards the populated neighborhoods as well. The Drug Cartels Terrorists control everything and over there they get themselves,"Mucho Borracho" ! and go crazy.
The Mexico Municipal police are really on the ball controlling this activity.
See pictures below;

How to deal with spam emails ....

You spam-chasers will recall that we had a bout of spam messages on the Chain Gang forum that would always include a link to "Redit". I had no idea what that was until last night when I was watching the last episode of The Myth Busters on my VCR (so that I could whip by the commercials) and they were saying that the members of the on-line form Redit supplied them with ideas for their last series of myth-busting. So, it would appear that the people (or person) that dumped those messages on our site were trying to promote Redit is some way by getting members of other forums to join that collection of TV-watching enthusiasts. Hopefully, now that the Myth Buster shows have come to an end, so will the Redit spam.
In other Myth Buster news, much of the last show was filmed at the Half Moon Bay Airport, which is located about 10 miles south of my home, adjacent to Highway 1 and next to the Pillar Point Harbor (planes, boats and crabs - except no crabs this year). No doubt they chose that location to film their stunts since the most active thing at that airport is the small cafeteria located in the almost as small terminal. It is far and away the least active airport in the Bay Area. But apparently a great place to fly a helicopter and drop a dummy out of the door from 1000 feet up on to the deserted runway.

There is no compulsion to read any thread if it annoys you. Just keep taking the medication.

The 'Words' thread is therapy for some.
That is if we is talking about the same thing.
"There is no compulsion to read any thread if it annoys you. "
Thank you, Gunner!
Some of the spam entries were quite curious. Makes one wonder just what in the heck is going on in the mind of the poster.
Apparently very little.

Notice the posters have only one post.
Depending on the forum software, the moderators can ban the IP address as well as the user name. On another forum, I'd look up a spammer and see that they had like 10 active user names from that IP address, as well as another 10 user accounts in the process of being approved. Ban one, and they just used the next user name.
The money is in getting you to click through and someone is getting paid for the advertising. I also have to wonder if they install malware in the process of you checking the link out.

There's a "One Touch Ban & Cleaner" button that bans the spammer, and deletes any other posts or threads he's made, as well as their IP address. All in one fell swoop ...
So if Richard would like to do this, he's more than welcome ...
-
OK. Show me where the button is located. But I wonder if it is worthwhile to keep track of these weird posts if some way should someone want to spam them back? Whats goes around ought to come around. Maybe we could send the spammer about 50 free magazine subscriptions and get him on lots of junk mail lists.

What I saw on another forum where I was a moderator, was the spammers were creating like 10 accounts at a time. Each account had to be approved, so of the 10 accounts they had started, some were active and some were in the different stages of being approved. As fast as we'd delete the one account, they'd just activate another. Going after the IP address though, allowed you to ban all of them at once.
As far as the buttons, once the forum admins/moderators change your account, you'll see more options on the screen to do things.
Chris

What I find curious is that we appear to be dealing with only one spammer (from San Francisco, apparently) and he/she seems to be using some sort of spam bot as the thread topics don't make any sense and are easy to spot because of that. Not a very intelligent bot, in my opinion. I'll be happy to delete its posts as quickly as I see them, but if anyone can go after its IP address that sounds like a better idea than deleting these random posts one at a time.
