It's been a long wait for the crate to arrive from South Africa, however it was well worth it!

We are now stocked back up on 2013+ F800GS crashbars, and just one left in stock for the '08-'12 models. These are THE most protective bars for the 2013+ F800's, and quite honestly look the part too! Here's the item description from our site:

"Designed and constructed by Wild@Heart in South Africa with a laser-focued goal the most protective crashbar on the market, this is the newest setup on our site. These crash bars protect the engine and radiator of the F800/700GS in the event of a "side stand" incident.

The F800GS 2013+ crash bar, like its predecessor, is aesthetically designed to follow the lines of the new F800GS whilst giving the motorcycle optimal protection. The crash bar comes up nice and high in order to help protect the upper side panels as well as the radiator.

Installation of the crash bar is straight forward and quick. It should not take longer than 15 to 20 minutes to install. The L-Shape brackets used to install the 2008-2012 model crash bars were done away with and are now replaced by a cross-bar supporting the upper sections. This change makes the installation of the crash bar and the servicing of the motorcycle quick and effortless."

    Hi Prudolf,

(((((I have edited this post. My initial comments mentioned that there were issues with the cross brace. There are indeed no issues with the cross brace. My problems were entirely "user (me) error" in that case. I tried deleting the cross brace pics but the system will not allow me to do so.)))))

I purchased a set of these bars for a 2014 F800GS in October, and due to winter activities I am only now getting the time to install them (yeah, I know...sad that I work so hard )

I have found that the lower right mounting tab is 45mm away from the engine and so the 30mm bushings and 60mm bolts will not allow the lower right bar mount to be tightened without severely bending the bar...and these bars don't bend, so it really strains the block. Additionally, the lower right mounting tab is not perpendicular to the bolt...it is tilted, which is visible in the pictures below, and this further strains the bar when trying to tighten it. Curiously, while the lower right mount is too far from the engine to bolt it on, the right bar actually touches the plastic on the side of the motorcycle, which is not appropriate. So, trying to just tighten the mounting bolt just shoves the bar harder into the plastic. I have tried alternately loosening and tightening all the bolts in order to "shift" the bars around, but the error is too large to alleviate the discrepancy.

For what it is worth, the lower left mount fit perfectly. I have attached a few pictures to illustrate the problem.

Do you think I just received a bad right bar? Is it possible to have a new right bar sent to me? I am curious if I am the only one who had this problem? I am really disappointed because I did a boatload of research on crashbars and concluded that the Wild at Heart bars satisfied all of my criteria, and no other brand did so.

    Please advise,

    Thank you!
