Poll: Will you be attending the 2009 F800 Riders Eastern US Rally?

I am sorry to post that I just cancelled the reservation for me and my brother.
There is now a double room available.
Unfortunately the economic downturn has forced cutbacks (except for day trips and staycations). In the last month, my employer has slashed 100 jobs and, just yesterday, announced furloughs. My position as a supervisor has forced me to deal with adjustments of schedules, days-off and all the while, still attempt to produce the same quality product with a disconcerted workforce.
Sorry to whine, but the times just suck and I'm finding I can live without many things...except the F800 that is.

Sorry you cannot make it..but thanks for giving me a kick in the backside to go. I was looking forward to meeting up for the ride down. Good luck with the work situation. I understand the situation as more and more of the same pressures here as well.

Bummer! You're right up the street and I still haven't met you! I think I saw you on Green Valley/ Market Street one afternoon though.

I live pretty close to that intersection. If the guy you saw was wearing a red-and-black jacket and "Sliders" khaki cargo pants (my summer gear), it was me.

I am unfortunately reporting that I won't be able to join in the rally fun! Lots of things going on not the least of which is Dave's (DH) knee replacement surgery on August 27th. He had hoped to delay until winter but the pain is huge (not as huge as giving birth...but I digress). This is why I've inherited the new F650GS and have been doing my best to keep in it good running condition.

I will miss you all--very much!

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the rally.

Too busy with work and re injured an old neck problem racing my car. Not very comfortable on the bike yet.
Already arranged with Thorvald to transfer my room reservation so hopefully he will still be able to attend.

Maybe some of us can get together again later this year up here near Toronto

And sure enough, I get back from Wainwright (ugh... Army Course) and we don't have a baby sitter now (death in her family). Hmm, maybe MikeT wants to watch my kids

So I've released my room from the hotel. I just got off the phone with them and they have 3 doubles still available!

Rob (CycleRob) and I are at the Old Clark Inn, and we rode up to the village of Boyer to find Larry the only F800 rider there at 8PM. I rode through the parking lot at the Hermitage motel earlier, but no F800s parked there at 6PM.

What is the schedule for the rally events? Rides, etc. Do we meet at Cass?

Rob and I will ride up early.

I'm mapping a dual-sport ride (for we GS riders and adventurous S and ST riders) up Spruce Knob on what is purported to be hard-packed dirt road. We'd leave from Boyer Station, and pass the Hermitage. If interested, please post your reply here and I will check in the morning.
