Here is a video showing the LC GS engine being assembled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD6kGafB2to

and here is a video showing various BMW model chassis being assembled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrWA9vrxhyE

Not as many robots as I expected. I guess the motorcycle assembly line workers aren't getting paid enough yet.

I remember when the work force was Eastern Europeans. At the Porche factory there were a lot of colorfully dressed folks. The have a very different sense of style...at least 50 years ago.
Making a motorcycle with a robot would be a bit difficult since it's such a small device. Engines assembled here and seats made there and then put together. Setting front ends requires a personal touch.

You just wait until McDonald hamburger flippers start making $15 an hour, plus full benefits. Then then you will see that your order taker and burger flippers will all be robots, with the restaurant manager in the bell tower keeping track of the robots to make sure that they don't keep any of the loose change or piss oil into the French fries.

Be positive, when the robots are flipping burgers, the maintenance force will increase and the techs that fix the robots will be paid more.
Imagine your fries cooker craps and you have 300 folks inputting to the Kiosk, "yes, I want fries" with that. Oh, the inhumanity!
Eventually we will become so dissociated with the effort of life as to not want to live it.
    Peel me a grape!

I was impressed with how many initial steps of the engine assembly were press fit. I've never rebuilt an engine. Thanks for sharing.
