The Husqvarna dealer in my area - Ride Motorsports in Woodinville - will not work on my 2011 TE-310. They said - "We will not work on a Husky older than 2012 due to ‘lack of manufacturer support’.

Has anyone else run into this?

    Welcome Mark.
He doesn't want to work on your bike because he is lazy… I suppose. There is not any reasonable excuse for not working on a bike of the brand he sells. It's the first time in nearly fifty years of riding that I hear something like this. Try to contact directly the Husqvarna or the KTM.
If you want, I can move this thread into the Husky dedicated forum, but probably here you can get more feedbacks because this section of the forum is more frequented.

I've heard rumors that the BMW dealers aren't enthusiastic about working on old Air Head bikes.
    But there are specialty shops.

My BMW dealer will absolutely not work on airheads (but they will order parts for them) and I think I heard that they won't work on any BMW more than 10 or 15 years old. I believe the official reason is that they no longer have technicians trained and certified by BMW to work on those models. Frankly, those older techs have all either retired, or quit when their wages were squeezed by the dealership and set up their own little business in a small shop trying to keep those bikes alive. But it is only a matter of time before those guys give up, leaving owners of old motorcycles to fend for themselves. The long-range problem is that there are fewer and fewer motorcycle technicians getting into the business every year (for all of the usual 21-century reasons). That just seems to me the way it is going and there is not much you can do about it other than pulling yourself up by your bootstraps and learning to work on an old bike via the School of Hard Knocks - and whatever contemporary service manuals you can find.

Remember, a dealer who can afford to turn away business doesn't need mine.

It's not as if you are asking a BMW dealer to service a 1934 Harley-Davidson.
