Hexcode (http://www.hexcode.co.za/techinfo/g450x) has a couple Power Commander fuel maps to download for different exhausts and some good tips in different threads here and there, mainly about adjusting to richer at low revs and leaner at high revs.

I thought some pointers in one thread from the prophets could be appreciated by the readers, what to take into consideration before installing a Power Commander (with or without autotune) and things to consider during installation, should one do it according to the installation guide or are there even some better practices, for example how should the wiring be done so that it wont results in a mishmash even worse than the original wiring bundle?

How does these modifications effect the fuel map, maybe some basic guidelines even though everything depends on every riders own likings?

    - different high-performance/slip-on exhausts
    - different high flow air filter solutions
    - second butterfly removal
    - riding temperature, elevation, terrain, style, etc...

For myself I'll probably start with the hexcode slip-on fuel map and adjust it according to my own preferences.

    Juha,

Are you installing a PCV yourself now ?

In my own experience, after downloading to view the original fuel map and AFR tables, before I even programmed my PCV and then looking at several of my own riding session tables on my bikes PCV maps, created from my own application with the PCV and an Autotune module installed and activated.

I can say I would begin fattening it up anywhere from 65% throttle opening on up to the 100% full throttle position. Pinned wide open, at a final "rich" AFR of like 12.8 to 1.
This richness of the Air Fuel ratio increases from a base lower RPM of about 13.2 to 1 AFR, going up across the board gradually from 6800 RPMs on up to the engines redline at 10500 RPMs.

Looking at all these PCV maps and the PCV Fuel / AFR tables on the computer screen over time, they are all showing "+ Fuel" by % anywhere in the higher RPM range over what the factory maps were providing with the "Power up plug" installed.

Just for the sake of holding the bike at full throttle, in the higher RPM range for any length of time. A richer AFR at Full Throttle and Higher Revs range will help cool the engine.

I have a few of other mods as well that you listed:

1)Increased airflow from "Strategically placed holes in upper area of the front of the air box cartridge".
    2)Full "Leo Vince" Exhaust system.
    3)Second butterfly removed.
    4)Currently running a 2011 TC 449 Engine. Which has:
    5) Ports cleaned up on TC449 head.
    6) TC449 cams.
    7)13 to 1 compression ratio.
    8) Close ratio 5 spd. transmission.

Certainly every bodies set up may be a little different.
As is my case. My particular set up is mapped at "full blast" all the time. No "High - Low" power settings or any map switch included.

  5. Thanks Allroad thanked for this post

Yes, installing when I get the time and looking for pointers before I start.
