Local dealer has a new 2017 R Nine T Pur on sale for a little under 10K. Thinking it might be a good stable mate for the GT. Any owners want to weigh in? Any test riders?

The original Schwartz Wald Troll
One feller I know has one and likes it. His is the first R Nine T version. He did have engine problems. Others have reported some issues also.
Looks wise, they fit the bill of Bitchin'!

Get a test ride. A long one.
I've been surprised by what I experienced on a test ride that I couldn't find by just walking around the bike and drooling on it. I thought I wanted a Yamaha FJ-09...till I took it around the block. In that case, I couldn't get off the bike quick enough. The test rides on the RS and RT last summer and fall were interesting. I would've thought I'd like the RT more. I didn't. The bike was good, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick the RS even though on paper it shouldn't be "better".
Unless you're the kind of buyer that just has to have a BMW, I'd also look at the new Kawasaki Z900RS or a Triumph Bonneville. They would make a great comparison to the R nine T, and the shopping experience would be a load of fun.

Test rode one today. My thought was "this is a great bike for the right person. I'm not that person."
I've been spoiled by a fairing and a windshield.
