Shop mostly at my local Safeway and I must say they have done a pretty nice job on procedure's, divider's, floor markings and signage,,. No real signs of price gouging, everything in stock and if you pick your times you can breeze in and out,,. Most of the stores in our area are similar and nice to see the restaurants trying to re-open,,.

The only peeve Ive got is there are the 5% or so of the shoppers that are totally oblivious to any of the safeguards that have been put in place, they go wherever in spite of the arrows and markings and don't maintain distances which is real easy to do given the set up,,!!

I don't shop at Safeway very often, but when I do, I go there around 8am. At that time everyone is wearing masks, but no one pays attention to arrows or social distancing. And the self-checkout machines are no longer being sanitized between uses, as far as I can tell. I mostly shop at the Grocery Outlet for its lower prices and it is pretty much every man for themselves. You are lucky if you can maintain an air gap between the various shoppers and the staff restocking the shelves. The only rules are to wear a mask and to not bring in your own reusable shopping bag. The store has no gate guard to control density within the store. They used to have someone sanitizing the hand baskets and carts, but no longer.

On my last trip to the grocery store I purchased lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, celery, cucumbers, peaches, oranges and strawberries. The cashier said "Who are you and what have you done with Bill?"

I purchased bacon and the self-help checkout machine didn't say a word, once it approved my Safeway personal shopping tracking card.

I won't use the self checkout as I would rather keep a cashier employed.

Likely a side effect of customers not following the guidelines and procedures that they have set up, what goes around comes around,,!!

I did a little shopping today and was told by the cashier that customers are now permitted to bring in their own reusable shopping bags. That saves me twenty-five cents a trip to buy one of their plastic bags to carry my groceries out. That was another weird rule that was supposed to keep us safe from the COVID-19 virus. I never did understand what that rule was about. But it is gone for now.

The price of everything seems to be out of control.
Beer prices especially, as i need to make sure my alcohol level never gets too low.

I've solved the problem: DIY beer kit , at least for stout, porters and dark ales in general
