Helmet stickers

I just read a comment on the Royal Enfield forum (figures. ) that you can buy a really cheap helmet from China and in the box they provide various Snell, DOT and EU certification stickers for you to apply to the back of the helmet to conform to the requirements of your local jurisdiction. Sounds like something a Chinese company would do. Very creative.

Harley riders have been doing that for ages with those neo nazi beanies they wear. The difference is how your head comes out when put to the test.
I have broken two helmets so far. A Shoei RF200 and a Skorpion EXO 1000. I would have a very cracked skull if I hadn't been wearing a proper helmet.
So at least when the folks go the really cheap helmet and the sticker of choice the best they are doing is perhaps clearing the bottom of the gene pool when they put the helmet to the test.

Once on a family road trip I spotted a Nazi-style plasticky helmet cracked down the middle and nailed to the top of a short fence. A sign under it on the fence said,
Mongo
RIP

I teared up a little thinking how this interesting fellow biker was let down by a “fake” motorcycle helmet. The memorial was meant to be a warning….
