I attended the Northern California Progressive International motorcycle show at Sears Point Raceway today. Guess what? Not a BMW display in sight. Other than the ones in the parking lot, of course. Attached are a few of the photos that I took today showing some of the displays that I found interesting.

Richard, last week Irv Seavers in Orange had the test fleet truck at his dealership. Maybe they feel they have enough of a captive audience to not attend a multi manufacturer event. i saw the new 40th Anniversary model and ended up buying one. Funny how a paint job can catch your interest.

Colors are an attention getter,,. Which model did you decide on and how was the pricing?
Not many discounts in these parts?

Unfortunately my flip phone doesn't have me taking pictures I know what to do with.
Lag, I got the F750GS 40th anniversary Bumble Bee version. Black and yellow like my 1989 R100GS, the original Bumble Bee.

I always liked the Bumble Bee color scheme.

Here's the line up,,,F8GS F8GSA F7GS,,,,,the 700 looks great in 40th Anniversary colors, I had a look at the 1200, they have a 40th anniversary demo which I might take for a ride?
Correction,,, Sorry "I had a look at the 1200",,,,its actually a 1250 40ths demo only model which is not currently for sale, if you want any of these bikes you need to order them, at least from our dealers in Vancouver,.?

Here is a link to a Motorcycle.com review of the 2021 Northern California International Motorcycle Show. The event is described as being "intimate" and the attendance was said to be disappointing. The author talked about a few of the attendees and not about any new motorcycles. Apparently the vendors didn't do much vending, although the test rides were well attended: https://www.motorcycle.com/events/20...sonoma-raceway

Here are two YouTube videos published by a longtime electric motorcycle rider of the two test rides that he took at the 2021 Northern California Motorcycle Show that was held at the Sears Point Raceway, north of San Francisco last weekend.

The first one is of his ride on the new Zero FXE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sbew-eR1YMw

And this longer one is of his ride on a new LiveWire One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_83m3BeshUQ

I attended the IMS in Atlanta several years in a row many years ago. Realized it was not for me when they replaced the trials exhibition with kids riding "steel ball of death".

Fortunately, no Ball of Death at this IMS.

The Ball of Death was entertaining but didn't hold my attention too long. The Ducati and Moto Guzzi girls did. Not enough to buy one of their bikes though. Locally the big box dealers in So Cal were the vendors that I go to occasionally so I stopped going to the shows. Why pay to go to Long Beach for the show when I can go a shorter distance and visit the big box store and see all the same stuff for free?
I seem to remember better show deals years ago. I even bought a Shoei RF200 helmet at one show at a really good price.

Most of the Big Box motorcycles stores seem to have bit the dust during the past 10 years. They took on more than they could chew.

The New York Show is now at the Brooklyn Army Terminal which is a bit of a PITA for me to get to. Following weekend are the MotoAmerica races at NJMP so I probably need to pace myself.

To answer the how much question. It was $15000 out the door. I've never been much of a haggler.

I do have one fellow interested in the G650GS at $4K. I'll give him the saddle cases too. Along with the crash bars i sourced. I'll break even at that. i checked the KBB and they say the bike is worth $5300.

Poor fellow had his engine blow up recently and it's in a shop.

What the hey. I sell the 650GS and have a new toy for $11K. What could go wrong?

Richard, the two local big box stores, Chaparral and Bert's have a vast store of multi brand bikes and wet toys and off road vehicles. They seem to be going OK.
