"la flaca" and "depende" are the most famous songs of jarabe de palo.

"putenza du gibbiuni!" dissi u sceccu quannu vitti u mari... ("what a big pool!" said the donkey when has seen the sea...)

in another thread I said that I like fabrizio de andré...
this is titled "il sogno di maria" (maria's dream), it describes the sexual embrace of maria and the holy spirit:

"putenza du gibbiuni!" dissi u sceccu quannu vitti u mari... ("what a big pool!" said the donkey when has seen the sea...)

in the same album (called "la buona novella", the good novel) there is also this song, "il testamento di tito", tito's testament. tito, one of the thieves crucified with jesus christ, disputes the ten commandments.

"putenza du gibbiuni!" dissi u sceccu quannu vitti u mari... ("what a big pool!" said the donkey when has seen the sea...)

Talking of blues axe men,I caught the late great Rory Gallagher in one of his last concerts,I'd seen him a few times before in the U.K. but there was nothing like watching Rory in his homeland, the following he had was truly unbelievable .Christy Moore does a great tribute called "Rory is gone" I miss him.

Slaid Cleaves is awesome. Quite a songwriter and I would like to see him live. I've been listening to Pat Metheny and Charlie Haden, Missouri Sky, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. This is a gorgeous instrumental and I can recommend the entire album for jazz lovers. Sometimes life gets a bit too fast, and it is music like this to soothe my soul.

richard, I could not find any de andré's scores on line, but it's quite easy to find the guitars tabs of his songs. it's easy also to buy the scores on line, many sites sell them.

Phil, I found this video and interview with Slaid Cleaves from last year. Interesting to hear his take on ideas for lyrics and music. One of the best.

Long time BOC fan here, 'Don't fear the reaper' and Einstürzende Neubautens 'Der Tot ist ein Dandy' are on the list of songs I would like to be played at my inhumation.

I hate to disagree, but to me it's very average, had a listen over the weekend and I found it fairly underwhelming, and I'm a Floyd fan

Longtime BOC fan too. College days listening to Agents of Fortune and ..... studying, sure. But when Saturday Night Live made this skit, I gained a whole new appreciation for the song. I NEED MORE COWBELL!
