Well folks...I've not posted a lot, but I've lurked around this site for three years, gleaning information and laughing (sometimes crying) at your musings. This is one of the best bike forums I've hung around. That being said, I traded my 800st for a new love, yes, an r1200gs. The ST was an awesome bike and I've nothing bad to say about it....she will be missed. Just not when I'm on the GS...

I'll still be hanging around and enjoying the show. Just wanted to say thanks for all the info and fun, and that I'm glad to see that you allow some R's to post on the site.

One nice thing about a big monster like the 1200GS is that once you plush up the suspension to your satisfaction, it floats down the highway like on a magic carpet. When the wife and I rode 2 up on the '89GS it was the best ride of all the bikes I've had.

Now you gotta go join the ADV crowd and play with the big boys.

I've joined the ADV forum to see what I can learn, but not sure I can hang with the big boys. My "adventure" riding will likely be limited to unpaved secondary roads....other than that, I'll be mostly on pavement. I think I'll enjoy the option of the "other route" when I'm touring though. Your right about the GS....it is a smooth ride...
